To enhance the local food and wine tradition, to make known the cultural and material heritage of Tuscany and to promote responsible and sustainable tourism, through breakfast.
This is the aim of Vetrina Toscana Breakfast. From today, in the catalogue, alongside restaurants, producers, shops and businesses offering food and wine experiences, there will also be hotels and b&bs offering a breakfast based on local products, to give the visitor a first taste of the territory, combining Tuscan character, authenticity and the typical nature of the local culinary tradition.
Every Tuscan town, village and hamlet in fact has a very precise identity linked to food and wine, a cultural and material heritage that is part of the extremely rich biodiversity of this region, which Vetrina Toscana Breakfast is committed to promoting and enhancing.
A virtuous initiative that further strengthens the bond with the territory and the unique image of every Tuscan locality through breakfast, at once a story and an experience to be told.
In the first meal of the day, hoteliers undertake to include at least one sweet and one savoury product of the territory, which will be identified with a label bearing the Vetrina Toscana logo and a brief description. Among the choices of the Grand Universe Lucca are the typical Lucca “torta coi becchi” of herbs and vegetables and the fig and walnut tart from the Giusti bakery, accompanied by the Tuscan cured meats of the Antica Norcineria of Ghivizzano, run by the Bellandi family. There can be no lack, moreover, of buccellato and cantuccini, castagnaccio and necci with ricotta, jams, locally produced blueberry and chestnut honey, potato bread and schiacciata, smoked trout from the Garfagnana, croissants, scrambled eggs with browned Tuscan pancetta, vegetables and sausages. All accompanied by coffee, cappuccino and fresh juices.
Registration for the Vetrina Toscana Breakfast project can be done from the Vetrina Toscana website in the Restaurants section by selecting the item Accommodation facilities.
