It is lovely to be able to gather with one’s own hands the fruits of the land and the sea.
But there are rules to be respected, for the protection of the environment, of the products, and out of respect for the rights of all “gatherers”. For the harvesting of mushrooms as well as blueberries, for fishing in fresh water as well as at sea for fish and clams.
Simple rules, permits quick to obtain, thanks to which one is free to contribute, with sustainable use, to safeguarding our lands.
For information on the necessary licences, you can connect, thanks to the links below, to the relevant pages of the website of the agriculture and natural resources service of the Province of Lucca.
– Fishing
fishing in fresh water as well as at sea is governed by precise rules and requires the payment of a fee for obtaining an annual, fortnightly or daily permit. The fishing licence is not necessary for activity in the fee-paying fishing ponds, such as the “casa del pescatore” at Isolasanta, for which it is sufficient to pay for a daily permit on site.
– Mushroom picking
Pioppino, honey fungus, porcino, chanterelle… many are the edible mushrooms that populate our undergrowth. They can be picked during daylight hours, by hand, and placed in aerated containers to allow the spread of the spores and thus a subsequent repopulation.
– Blueberry picking
For the picking of blueberries there are very precise limitations, differentiated according to the municipality of harvest.
– Clam fishing
as for fish so too for clams. Few rules, so as to be able to enjoy them… with a light heart.
– limits for the picking of asparagus, carnation, snowdrop, holly, primrose, narcissus, butcher’s broom
Flowers, asparagus and wild herbs too are protected by regulations which, again out of respect for and safeguarding of the species, impose limits on picking.
